School is about to start and that means a return of routines for many families. After the past two years of COVID restrictions and the wonderful rotating cast of supply priests (you all have been an amazing blessing to us!) Christ Church Episcopal will be able to have more familiar routines as well.
Starting on September 11th we will be back to services at 10 AM every Sunday. We will continue to celebrate the Liturgy of the Word and Holy Communion until Rev. Sadie’s ordination to the priesthood in December. Keep your eyes out for more information about that big event and celebration.
Godly Play and Youth Group
September 11th begins a new year for Godly Play. This program focuses on the spiritual formation of our elementary school aged children. With a focus on hands-on learning and exploring the rich texts of Scripture we welcome you to participate. Children can be dropped off in the Dickey Hall Classroom at 10 AM on Sunday and will rejoin their family in the sanctuary for Holy Communion.
Youth Group is an evening gathering open to middle and high school students. Starting on Sunday September 11th from 5-7 PM, they will gather in the basement of Christ Church for conversation, games, and chances to learn how to participate in the church and community.
Every Friday you have the option to join a Zoom Bible Study at 10:30 AM. Discuss the coming Sunday’s lectionary passages for a richer engagement with the text.
We are delight to host some of the former Compline choir for a special performance for Ukraine on September 11 at 7 PM.
Bishop Marty Stebbins will be visiting us October 9th, and we look forward to a wonderful service under her leadership.
Rev. Sadie and the Parish Retreat Committee are planning The Roots and Shoots Parish Retreat for October 14-15.
